Biography
Sudhir Kumar Sahu (born 9 October 1965) is an Indian civil engineer and author from Odisha, India. He served in the Department of Water Resources, Government of Odisha, and retired in 2025 as Additional Chief Engineer. He is also known for writing books on mythology, global events, and stock market education.
Early life and education
Sudhir Kumar Sahu was born in Boudh district, Odisha, India. He completed his Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering in 1988 from the College of Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar (now part of Odisha University of Technology and Research). He later earned a Master of Technology degree in Structural Engineering from Karnataka State Open University in 2014 through distance education. He has also pursued a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Sikkim Manipal University.
Career
Sahu joined the Government of Odisha in 1994 as an Assistant Engineer in the Department of Water Resources. During his career spanning over three decades, he worked on multiple irrigation and dam infrastructure projects across Odisha. He retired on 31 October 2025 as Additional Chief Engineer, Hirakud Dam Circle, Burla. The Hirakud Dam is one of the longest earthen dams in the world and serves irrigation, flood control and hydroelectric power functions in the state.
